In a broadband network, different Internet protocols are used for signaling and distribution, but it is different from the Internet in the way that it is a closed network where the operator has full control over the customers, the equipment in the network, the total capacity and the bandwidth for the different services. IP mulicast must be enabled and there must be a guarantee for quality of service.
